About Me

hi, i'm peehu
I was born in Hazaribagh but grew up in bits and pieces across cities — from preschool in Hong Kong to a British school in Kuwait (and Dubai), to a Bahá'í boarding school in Panchgani, before finishing the IBDP in Mumbai. Living in these places exposed me to different levels of education systems, forms of government, and ways of thinking. My father likes to say, “we’re cosmopolitan.” I can’t help but agree.
There are stories everywhere — in the people I meet, the cultures I move through, and the movies I rewatch a little too often.
My curiosity has led me down a wide variety of interests, as I try to solve for 1) intellectual fulfillment, 2) impact, and 3) fun. So this gap year, I’ve been exploring it all — reading Sartre’s plays, starting endless creative projects, cooking for my little sister, doing yoga, and occasionally traveling to towns with more cows than cell towers. And sometimes I try to share what I have learnt.
Some ideas I keep coming back to:
-
Slope > Y-intercept. And change is the only constant.
-
Playing by the rules sucks.
Most rules were built to serve people born with high Y-intercepts. playing games that others designed is often unfair and a waste of time. Designing your own games and writing your own rules isn’t just fun; it’s often the only way to have a high slope.
-
Stories > Numbers.
There’s no one you wouldn’t love if you knew their story. So be vulnerable enough to share yours, and empathetic enough to listen to others.
Most nights, you’ll find me solving Sporcle quizzes, spiraling through Wikipedia pages on financial scams, or watching Adam Sandler movies. I love spotting Greek tragedies in real life, diving into Isobel Yeung’s documentaries, and having conversations about illiberal democracy, dogmatism, and diabetes in India.
I want to measure my life by the impact I create. Someday, I hope to build ventures that rethink education, empower women through finance, or make clothes.
This site is my little shrine a space to reflect, make art, and write about my experiences, feminist reflections, policies and their tradeoffs, or businesses. I also share the occasional recipe or broke-student hack.
P.s. All the items above are bits and bobs from my little world—some I've painstakingly scanned myself, others borrowed from Pinterest.
