Bombay

I moved to Mumbai in 2019. Everything here felt louder, faster, but also more alive. The city had this relentless pace, but also a strange softness buried beneath all that noise. Mumbai, like New York or London, is stitched together by stories of people who’ve come here from somewhere else; to study, to survive, to send money home, or to chase something they can’t name yet. Each neighbourhood has its own rhythm, yet somehow it all fits clumsily, beautifully. I picked up photography recently and began walking, capturing whatever caught my eye: the trains, the old facades, the sea, the scaffolding. Some shots are just pretty, others, I hope, offer a fresh way of seeing something familiar. A small attempt to hold this chaotic, comforting city still - even if just for a second.
